Sustainable + Moody North Shore Wedding

Loulu Palm is a breathtaking oceanfront venue located on the North Shore of Oahu, a favorite Hawaiian island for destination and local brides alike. Loulu (as it's lovingly called by anyone who has had a chance to see its beauty) made a conscious choice to raise awareness, and uses its voice to highlight the importance of sustainability and eco-friendly alternatives in the wedding industry. Loulu has banned the use of any plastic on its property, and instead opts for eco-friendly compostobale options, or re-usable materials such as glass, wood, ceramic, or silver for food and drinks. We were so inspired by Loulu's commitment to sustainability and the future of our islands and wanted to honor + highlight eco-friendly wedding alternatives in this sustainable + moody North Shore wedding design.

We created floral incense, also known as smudging sticks, for sustainable and non-disposable wedding favors. These smudging sticks were crafted by hand with Maui-grown sage, foraged wild roses and foraged wild lavender. Smudging sticks are traditionally burned to cleanse a ceremony space or to rid a space of negative energy. The addition of wild roses and lavender are said to have a calming and meditative effect and have been traditionally used to attract love. What a perfect wedding favor!
